What would you recommend to include in a travel bag? It’s important to pre-plan. Before you travel, think about where you are going and what facilities are out there. While you can find a pharmacy in most holiday destinations, you may not be able to find your trusted brand or speak the language to explain your symptoms.

For those heading off on a relaxing, sunny beach holiday, sun protection should be on the top of your list.

At LloydsPharmacy we recommend at least SPF15, but higher for children and those with sensitive skin.

If your idea of the perfect holiday is more off the beaten track, the sanitation may not be up to scratch. I’d recommend taking hand sanitiser wipes and gel, plus rehydration therapy to keep hydrated and help cure any potential stomach bugs. Don’t forget to check if you need any vaccinations before you travel. Insect repellent First aid kit Allergy reliever

Pain relievers (please check the medication you take is legal and allowed into your destination – and only take what you believe to be necessary)

If you’re taking any prescription medication, remember to take enough with you to cover the duration of your stay. The NHS recommends that you carry medicines and medical equipment in their original, correctly labelled packages. Carry your medication in your hand luggage (check airline regulations) with a copy of your prescription*. Check your medication can be taken into the country and the maximum amount you’re allowed. Triple defence protection from UVA, UVB and IR-A rays. This water resistant sun lotion helps prevent premature skin ageing and moisturises to keep skin hydrated soft and supple. Ideal for taking on holiday, this kit contains all the first aid essentials, inclduing antiseptic wipes, plasters, dressings and bandages.
