SCUNNY BUBBLE BURSTS FOR ALEXANDER

-

GRAHAM ALEXANDER became the latest League One manager to lose his job – with his side sitting in the play-off positions.

Scunthorpe haven’t been out of the top six all season, but with just one win in their last 13 games this draw against relegation strugglers Rochdale proved fatal.

The Iron’s gaffer may regret his honesty in his post-match interview after Ivan Toney had cancelled out Callum Camps’ first-half opener for Rochdale.

Alexander (left) said: “It wasn’t a game high on quality or for playing champagne football from either team because of the need for points.” But Rochdale boss Keith Hill added: “I don’t look at the position we’re in. It was a positive performance from us.”

Favourites to replace Alexander include former Fleetwood boss Uwe Rosler.
