Fashion firm tycoon quits

-

The co-founder of fashion firm Superdry is to leave the company.

Julian Dunkerton will quit the board at the end of the week to “devote more time to his other business and charitable interests”.

He will donate £1.2million in shares to Blue Marine Foundation, a charity set up to combat overfishing.

Dunkerton and James Holder, the entrepreneur behind the Bench fashion brand, founded Superdry in 1985 from a market stall in Cheltenham. It floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2010.

Dunkerton’s departure triggered a 6.6% fall in Superdry’s share price yesterday, wiping £80m off its stock market value.
