PARD HAS CARES OF WORLD ON SHOULDER

-

ALAN PARDEW says his West Brom side are heading for relegation because his players care too much.

Baggies players were reduced to tears at Bournemouth last week as they threw away a 1-0 lead to slide to an eighth successive defeat in all competitions. And Pardew (above) has rounded on fans who have accused his side of not caring

“I really felt for the players last week,” said Pardew. “I thought they gave me everything and got nothing.

“The problem when you are not getting results and you’re bottom of the league is the accusation that you don’t care. From the evidence I’ve seen from my team, that couldn’t be further from the truth.”

Baggies today host Burnley, who are still holding out hopes of a European place.

They are seventh, which will be enough for a spot in Europe if the FA Cup winners finish in the top six.

That is very likely given that Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea are all in the semi-finals. But boss Sean Dyche said: “Outside the top six, the lines are fine. Go on a bad run and it can be drastic.”
