LUHUKAY DAY AS OWLS GET SAFE

-

WEDNESDAY produced a ruthless second-half performance to secure their Championship safety and put a smile on the face of boss Jos Luhukay.

The Owls have struggled for wins and goals this season but two goals from Atdhe Nuhiu (left) and one each for sub strikers Lucas Joao and Fernando Forestieri moved them 11 points clear of the drop zone – and dented North End’s play-off hopes.

Luhukay said: “I am more happy for the fans and the players than myself. We can take a lot of confidence from this.” Substitute Louis Moult scored for Preston whose boss Alex Neil said: “Defensively we made poor decisions for their goals but overall, we were the better side.”
