ANTHONY JOSHUA has been warned he will lose to Joseph Parker tonight if he doesn’t change his style.
Peter Fury, who masterminded nephew Tyson Fury’s stunning win over Wladimir Klitschko as well as training son Hughie when he lost to Parker, claims Joshua cannot fight his usual way against the New Zealander.
Fury claims the WBA Super and IBF heavyweight king will come unstuck if he stands in the middle of the ring and tries to blow Parker away with his power.
“If Joshua fights anything like in his previous fights, he loses,” said Fury. “If he stands still and he’s looking for power, it isn’t going to work. Joshua has got to box. It’s not an easy fight for him.
“Parker has got the mobility, while Joshua is the powerhouse.
“Although Joshua can move his legs, with him being so heavy at the top his body stays still. He’s not built as a mover. He’s built for power.
“Joshua’s chin is more fragile than Parker’s. When the big guys plant their feet and unload, they’re putting so much into those shots that they’re vulnerable when they come back at them.
“You look at all the big punchers over the years and they could be hurt. “They’re fragile.” Fury claims Parker also has to box smart because he will lose if he stands and tries to trade punches with Joshua.
“Parker has to use intelligence and experience to have any chance,” Fury said.
“He’s got to be able to tie his man up. If he lets Joshua start unloading, he’s going to come unstuck.
“He’s got to know there’s more to boxing than that.
“You’ve got to navigate your way around the ring and stop the other guy doing what he does.
“If Parker gets in a slanging match with him and tries to trade shots, he will come off second-best.
“They say Parker has a good chin. Well, he has within reason. If Joshua hits him, he won’t have.”
