JO’S BRUTAL SPEED KO’S BIG HITTERS

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

ANTHONY JOSHUA needs to beware Joseph Parker’s speed – because that is his power.

Parker is not as heavyhanded as KO king Joshua, who has stopped all 20 of his pro rivals inside the distance.

But Parker’s sparring partner Malik Scott claims the unbeaten Kiwi’s speed cancels out Joshua’s power.

“I’ve boxed possibly every blessed heavy puncher in my career,” said Scott, who won 38 of his 42 pro fights.

“Deontay Wilder, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko, Tyson Fury, Charles Martin, Tony Thompson, the list goes on.

“Joe, in my opinion, as far as speed, his speed is his power and it’s not about his thud.

“Deontay Wilder could nip you and hurt you. Deontay is blessed with something that you have to be born with and can’t teach.

“Joe has been born with something you can’t teach. It just so happens it may not be the biggest power, but it’s the fastest speed.

“Joshua’s not slow, he’s just not as quick as Parker. That’s why this fight is so impactful.

“When it comes to speed, Joe has a wider margin over Joshua. Speed is power.”
