Shakespeare to stage a return
It’s a daytime hit and an iPlayer success, so it’s no surprise that Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators is set to return for a second series.
The drama, starring Jo Joyner and Mark Benton, reached 2.1 million viewers, double the average for its 2.15pm slot on BBC1, making it the biggest drama launch for daytime since the Beeb’s Father Brown in 2013.
Hundreds of thousands of people are also watching it on catch-up.
Jo said: “I’m totally thrilled to have the chance to visit Lu, Frank and Sebastian again in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. We were really blown away by the support the first series garnered and we can’t wait to see what they get up to next.”
Mark added: “I’m so thrilled to be making the show again. The reaction was phenomenal and hopefully series two will be even better. Can’t wait.”
