Ex-cop calls force ‘racist’
A POLICE force with no black officers has been accused of racism by a former sergeant.
Zaheer Ahmed claims colleagues said a prisoner who called him a n****r was “not being serious”.
He says an officer sacked for alleged racial abuse but reinstated assessed him for a promotion he did not get.
Mr Ahmed, 54, left North Yorkshire Police last year after joining in 1994 and rising to sergeant in 2006.
He told of his “humiliation” at a Teesside tribunal.
The hearing continues.
