I’d urge the young woman who wrote to you about staying with her boyfriend rather than pursuing her education at university to rethink her situation and follow her dreams (Dear Coleen, March 22).

I have a daughter of the same age and she too has a boyfriend. But she went to uni and still sees him from time to time and they get together in the holidays.

However, she made it clear that her education is a priority because it’s her future.
