Bluebirds boss Warnock warns players to drop social media

- BY STEFFAN THOMAS

NEIL WARNOCK has warned his Cardiff City players of the dangers of social media as they prepare for showdowns with two of their biggest rivals.

A video of Cardiff defender Sean Morrison mocking Derby players went viral with tensions between the two clubs already high after the controversial postponement of their fixture last month.

Warnock claimed Derby had initiated the insults and said: “I have seen the videos they sent and there’d be more headlines in that if we let that go out.

“While I don’t condone the language, and it leaves a lot to be desired, our lads have videos of them as well.

“Social media is a dangerous thing and my players have got to be

warned about that. I’ve had a chat with Sean and told him I’m disappointed. Let that be a warning to everyone, you’ve got to be careful.”

Cardiff host Championship leaders Wolves tonight as the top two go head to head before facing Aston Villa on Tuesday.

A record crowd of over 30,000 is expected at the Cardiff City Stadium with the Bluebirds needing just a point to secure a play-off place.

Joe Ralls and Jazz Richards have both been ruled out, while Matt Connolly has

been declared fit to play. Warnock said: “Everybody says that Wolves are the best team in the league. We’ve played against them once and we did quite well against them that night. I think it’ll be a cracking game.

“I can’t see this one being anything other than entertaining because they’ll be at full strength and they have got some very good players.”

Wolves can go nine points clear at the top with victory, and Moroccan star Romain Saiss is dreaming of promotion and starring at the World Cup. Saiss (below, celebrating the recent win at Middlesbrough with manager Nuno Espirito Santo) said: “Every team is tired because the Championship is so long and the most difficult league in the world.

“The next 10 days will be very important to us to get promotion.

“But I can’t switch off in the summer either because of the World Cup.

“It’s a dream if you get promotion and if you make a good World Cup, but I’m focused only on promotion and afterwards I’ll have time to think about the World Cup.”
