Whistleblower Russian ill on eve of death

-

A RUSSIAN businessman, and suspected poisoning victim, vomited the night before he died, his mistress has revealed.

Ukraine-born Elmira Medynska, 28, had been on a romantic break in Paris with married Alexander Perepilichnyy, she told an inquest.

She said he was “very stressed”, and sick on return to the hotel after sending back his tempura prawns at dinner. The next day he died at home in Weybridge, Surrey.

Mr Perepilichnyy, 44, had been helping expose a £162million money-laundering operation in 2012, the Old Bailey heard.

A month before his death he fought off a legal challenge by a debt recovery firm. It was allegedly led by the prime suspect in the poison case of former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko. The London inquest into his death continues.
