What a Corrie on

-

Ian Hyland is right, Coronation Street has always had humour, but also dealt with important issues (Mirror, April 26). I’m glad Kate Oates has gone and hope it will now become the show we love.

The Phelan story hasn’t been true to life and his killings weren’t suitable at 7.30pm. Sara Wallis says it must move with the times, but we don’t need to see people shot. I hope new producer Iain MacLeod will be more sensitive. H Rawles, Blandford Dorset

When is the FA going to pressurise UEFA to penalise Roma FC over fans who left Liverpool supporter Sean Cox fighting for his life (Mirror, April 26)?

If it was an English club, they would have been punished for it. R Tandy, Liverpool

The difference in the letters sent by M Gosney and Bill Cook about the royal birth could hardly be wider (April 25).

While Ms Gosney thinks it’s “amazing”, Mr Cook says “it’s nothing extraordinary”. More important is what he says on the gulf in life chances for the prince and a child born in Syria. Sam Johnson, Blackpool

It annoys me that the price of groceries is up. At one store a pack of fruit juices has been put from £2 to £2.98, yet up the road another sells them for £2.58. William Hall, Liverpool
