I saw Monday’s poll and wasn’t surprised 59% agreed the head of Ashby Primary School was wrong to allow teachers to finish at 1.15pm on Fridays. My daughter is a teacher and it seems a work-life balance doesn’t apply. As well as their job, they have a mountain of admin and also have to be social workers, care workers and childminders. Yes, they are off when the kids are, but my daughter goes into school during holidays and spends hours at home doing work. S Greenhalgh, Wigan Gtr Manchester

I agree with most of your readers on the issue of assisted dying (Your Voice, May 1). My husband ended his own life in a private hospital and thankfully no arrests were made. So, yes, assisted dying should absolutely be legalised. Carol Major, Hayes West London
