Aiton sees Knights to remember

- BY GARETH WALKER

CATALANS hooker Paul Aiton says England Knights’ tour of Papua New Guinea later this year will have a huge impact in his home country.

Mirror Sport understands the RFL are in the final stages of confirming matches for Paul Anderson’s side against the Kumuls in Port Moresby and Lae.

Ireland and Wales played in front of sell-out crowds in PNG at last year’s World Cup, but the previous time a home nation visited was when Great Britain beat the Kumuls 32-30 in 1996.

PNG international Aiton (above) said: “It’s awesome, I’m so happy about that. The country loves rugby league, they will know all the players already and the experience will be great for them.”
