Our 56 phone checks a day

WE check our mobiles for messages and social media updates an average 56.2 times a day, a study claims.

For those with a phone from 18, that adds up to 1.3 million times in a lifetime.

Some 75% of us cannot find time to relax away from devices and the most popular place to switch off, on 43%, is the bathroom.

David Bond of bathroom designer Geberit, which did the poll, said: “The level of exposure to technology and the impact on wellbeing is concerning.”
