Today’s picture shows football legend George Best parading the European Cup after Manchester United beat Portuguese side Benfica 4-1 to become the first English side to win the coveted trophy. A crowd of 100,000 watched at Wembley Stadium, while around the world 250 million tuned into their TV sets. Belfast-born Best went on to to be named European Footballer of the Year.
