Mrs Brown real family nag dad for best jokes

MRS Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll admits it is a nightmare working with his family because they all pester him to give them the best lines in the BBC1 hit show.

The 62-year-old stars alongside wife Jennifer Gibney, below, son Danny O’Carroll and daughter Fiona O’Connor.

Several members of his extended family have roles, too. Brendan is working on new sitcom The Course about no-hopers who sign up for a positive mental attitude course which is run by a conman.

He said: “We have the ability to do all these projects using our own little troop of actors. It’s fairly easy except for the writer, who has to make sure that there are parts for his wife and his son and everyone else. I’m tempted to give myself the best lines but I get, ‘Dad, for f**k’s sake what’s this?’ It’s important everyone gets their gags.”
