By-passport control shock
THOUSANDS of air passengers bypass passport control because they are sent the wrong way after arriving in the UK.
From 2013 to 2017, more than 11,000 international arrivals were not presented to Border Force officers immediately on landing.
Last year 2,328 “misdirections” were logged, up from 1,364 in 2016, putting airlines or airports at risk of fines up to £50,000.
The Home Office said: “We are determined to eradicate these errors.”
