BOOSH’S MIGHTY CHANCE

- BY DAVE MITCHELL

WATCHING Tarboosh in action at Epsom in April you couldn’t fail to notice it just wasn’t his day.

Drawn high, the Paul Midgley-trained sprinter was buffeted around virtually from the start and was eased by Adam Kirby when hampered again inside the final furlong.

Beaten around three-and-a-half lengths by Bahamian Bay, he endured by far the worst passage out of the 11 horses who ran in the race and reappear today.

He has a far lower draw here — away from the stand rail — which means TARBOOSH is likely to enjoy a more conventional run under Cam Hardie, who knows him well.

He ended last season as a handicapper going places and can confirm that view now he has got a couple of runs under his belt.

KNIGHT TO BEHOLD sports the silks carried to St Leger glory by Millenary and shapes like he could finish up the season at Doncaster himself.

Firstly, he runs in today’s Derby, in which he has bagged a nightmare of a draw in stall two.

He’s going to be keen early in the race, which will help him bag a prominent position.

However, his chance of success will depend on how much the aggressive tactics he will need to adopt takes out of him.
