Angry Pep breaks silence on midfielder’s ‘African’ claims: ‘Why say it now? It’s a lie and he knows it’
PEP GUARDIOLA has branded Yaya Toure a liar and rejected his former player’s accusations he is racist towards African players.
Guardiola has finally answered Toure’s claims he did not pick him last season at Manchester City because he is black.

FROM BACK PAGE never told me face to face.” Guardiola, who is relaxing back in Spain, was staggered by Toure’s bitter attack on him.
Toure, who has left City after his contract expired, is sore because Guardiola only handed him one Premier League start last season and claims the former Barcelona boss was “cruel” to him.
The Ivory Coast star said: “It got to the point I asked myself if it was because of my colour? I’m not the first. Other Barcelona players asked the question.
“When you see the problems he has often had with African players, everywhere he has been, I ask myself questions.
“He is too intelligent to be caught, he will never admit it. But the day he picks a team with five Africans in it, I promise I will send him a cake.”
Guardiola also ruled out returning to Barcelona as coach or president one day.
“When I stop coaching, you will find me playing golf,” he said.
