TYPE 2 diabetes raises the risk of Parkinson’s disease by 31%, a study reveals.

Risks also appear higher for younger diabetics and those with complications from the disease, says University College London.

Author Dr Thomas Warner said: “Our study examined a large portion of the English population and found a strong link between these two seemingly different diseases.”

Findings were based on 12 years of England’s hospital database stats.
