COURAGEOUS Steve and Mel ITV, 9pm

WHEN the mother of murdered schoolboy Rhys Jones recalls the moment she heard he had been shot, it’s enough to send a chill down your spine.

C4, 9pm There was a shocking revelation at the end of the last episode, when we realised the seemingly benign Anatole (Ukweli Roach) was actually leading a violent synth rebellion.

He even instructed Laura’s bodyguard housekeeper Stanley (Dino Fetscher): “At 2pm tomorrow, you kill them all.”

So we already know that nothing is likely to go well for Laura (Katherine Parkinson) as her big day approaches.

“Social cohesion is our only hope,” she repeats to herself the night before, practising her speech. Oh, if only she knew that behind those creepy, supposedly harmless orange eyes, Stanley has malevolent plans.

With Mia (Gemma Chan) speaking at the commission, Laura must do everything in her power to stop an awful attack.

Meanwhile, Leo (Colin Morgan) and Mattie (Lucy Carless) return to the Elster house where Leo comes to understand a painful truth. But Stanley has big news for Mattie that could knock things off course.
