New figures released by the Government show that non-violent breakdown of a relationship with a partner is the fifth leading cause of homelessness.

The figures also showed a 54% rise in single-parent families who are homeless or living in temporary accommodation.

On the back of this, Relate is calling for local authorities to consider free relationship counselling for families at risk.
