Today’s photo shows enigmatic Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones who formed the group in 1962 as a blues outfit. Jones was the original leader but when new recruits Mick Jagger and Keith Richards began to have success as a songwriting partnership, penning hits such as The Last Time in 1965, he was gradually sidelined. He died in 1969 after drowning in his swimming pool while under the influence of drugs a month after being asked to leave the band.
