Virgin Media may lose 4 in 10 over UKTV
MORE than four in 10 people are more likely to dump Virgin Media TV in the next three months after losing UKTV channels.
Some 42% of customers said this, while 62% were dissatisfied about no longer getting the likes of Dave, which airs Top Gear.
Virgin Media axed all 10 UKTV stations at the weekend after the two firms were unable to agree a new distribution deal.
It has new channels but said UKTV charges “inflated” fees and joint owner the BBC does not allow all shows to be on demand.
Darren Childs of UKTV, which commissioned the survey, said: “This delivers a clear message to Virgin Media. We hope they will drop demands to force a huge price cut on UKTV.”
