AASH BURNS IT UP

- BY NEWSBOY BY DAVID YATES

GIFTED MASTER is fancied to give his rivals weight and a beating in the Unibet Stewards’ Cup (3.40, ITV) at Glorious Goodwood today.

GOODWOOD CARD: PAGES 4-5 BATTAASH left them standing at Glorious Goodwood yesterday and is now a best-priced 11-10 favourite with Betfair for York’s Nunthorpe Stakes in 20 days’ time.

The Charlie Hills-trained speedball was sent off the 8-11 favourite to repeat last year’s victory in the Group 2 King George Stakes and he romped home by four lengths in the hands of Jim Crowley.

Battaash (right), fourth in the Nunthorpe in 2017, is as short as 4-7 to make amends on his return to the top level.

Hills said: “Things didn’t go to plan at York last year. I think something was on his mind and it all got on top of him.

“But he has had plenty more racing now and he is learning with every run.

“That was pretty special – he is some horse.” YESTERDAY’S RESULTS: PAGE 7
