Poundland is launching its own £1 skincare range to tap into a predicted £26.7billion beauty market. The chain claimed its six-piece skincare range will “inject some everyday luxury” into beauty routines. Products include cleansing water, anti-ageing day cream and night cream, collagen filler and derma serum. Maverick Musk used a blog to outline his plans, which he first revealed in a tweet earlier this month.

He said he had discussed the move with the sovereign wealth fund of oil-crisis Saudi, which only recently bought a stake in Tesla.

Musk’s move to take the firm private, and the way he announced it, has triggered lawsuits by other investors.
