Star wars over Trump tribute
Sci-fi legends in call for Carrie to take spot on Walk of Fame
ACTORS are calling for Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star to be replaced by one for Carrie Fisher.
Mark Hamill, 66, who appeared with Carrie in Star Wars as Luke Skywalker, started the campaign after Trump’s star was vandalised.
He said: “How about replacing it with someone who really earned it? Like @carrieffisher.” Now Star Trek legend William Shatner, 87, is backing calls for Carrie’s star. He tweeted: “Is it true Carrie Fisher does not have a star on the walk of fame? If so, what shall we do?”
Shatner, who played Captain Kirk in Star Trek, said he would
consult with Fisher’s family. The Princess Leia star died in December, 2016, aged 60. Her film star mum Debbie Reynolds died next day at 84.
Trump has been accused of launching a racially charged, sexist attack on former White House aide Omarosa ManigaultNewman after calling her a “dog” and a “lowlife”.
