Palm oil kills our planet

I’m grateful to the Daily Mirror for highlighting the decimation of orangutans for palm oil and the destruction of the rainforest in South East Asia (Mirror, August 13). Soon there could be none left.

It seems human beings and money-grabbing companies are too greedy to think ahead. And not only are we killing endangered species, but the companies that manufacture palm oil are destroying our planet. Thank goodness for organisations such as Greenpeace, and actress Emma Thompson who is using her celebrity status to make people aware of the suffering of these animals.
