Austerity to blame

-

Why the surprise at the 40% increase in Type 2 diabetes in young children (Mirror, August 18)?

Eight years of austerity has led to a massive decrease in the living standards of millions of vulnerable people.

When hard-working folks have to rely on food banks, school breakfast clubs and charity to feed their families, it is not surprising that our children’s health is being affected.

Food banks are not supermarkets – you don’t have the choice of what you feed your families. Len Goodwin, Doncaster

Has MP Norman Lamb, who suggests e-cigarette rules should be relaxed (Mirror, Aug 17), ever walked behind anyone smoking one?

If he had he would not have come out with this stupid idea.

They give off a repulsive smell and make me feel sick.

In my opinion, they should be banned in public places. Alan Bryan Walsall, West Mids
