Workers at big firms are the most stressed. Research by the employee benefit firm Perkbox found that employees of companies with more than 500 people topped the worry league, with those in micro businesses of four workers or fewer the least stressed.

Budget fitness chain The Gym Group is counting the short-term cost of expanding. Profits in the six months to the end of June dived 14% to £5.1million after accounting for buying 13 sites from rival easyGym.
