War hero’s last journey
AN honour guard carries the coffin of US war hero John McCain to a memorial service yesterday.
The senator died of brain cancer on Saturday aged 81, and had been lying in state in Phoenix, Arizona.
The service celebrated the life of the navy pilot, inset, who stood up to prolonged torture after being shot down in the Vietnam War.
The two-time Republican presidential candidate was a bitter opponent of Donald Trump, who was not invited to his funeral.
