30 years for ‘behead PM’ IS terror plot
AN Islamic State terrorist who plotted to bomb 10 Downing Street and behead Theresa May has been jailed for 30 years.
Naa’imur Zakariyah Rahman, 21, had been found guilty of preparing a bomb, knife and gun raid after a sting by the FBI, MI5 and Scotland Yard.
He was arrested after collecting dummy explosives from an undercover officer in November 2017.
He plotted to blow apart gates at No10, kill armed officers and attack the PM.
His plot was foiled after he contacted an FBI agent posing as an ISIS member.
Rahman, of Finchley, North London, planned to “take the head off” Mrs May, the Old Bailey heard.
Mr Justice Haddon-Cave said Rahman “would have carried out his attack”.
