JOSE: I’M STILL THE GREATEST

Mourinho comes out fighting ahead of must-win match

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

JOSE MOURINHO declared he is still “one of the greatest managers in the world”, despite a mounting crisis at Old Trafford.

The Manchester United boss has a must-win game at Burnley tomorrow after back-to-back defeats saw the 20time champions slump to 13th place in the Premier League table.

A third straight defeat would leave the Red Devils facing their worst start to a league campaign for 37 years and increase the

pressure on Mourinho. But the selftitled Special One came out fighting yesterday and said he is still one of the greatest bosses in the world. “I am the manager of one of the greatest clubs in the world, but I am also one of the greatest managers in the world,” said the 55-year-old. Mourinho also hit back at Tottenham fans, who taunted him during their team’s shock 3-0 win at Old Trafford last Monday, with mocking chants of “You’re not special any more”.

He added: “They didn’t have that song when we beat them at Wembley a couple of months ago (in the FA Cup semi-final).

“It was a title they had a big dream to win, because they don’t win many.

“So, that night at Wembley, the United fans were singing the ‘Special One’ and, of course, they were not singing that.”
