NHS chief rap for Prem bets
THE NHS boss has blasted Premiership clubs’ deals with foreign betting firms over problem gamblers.
None of the eight who sponsored top-flight teams had given to the Gambling Commission’s £10million fund to help addicts, said Simon Stevens.
He added the NHS and taxpayers should not have to “pick up the pieces” of 430,000 problem gamblers.
World online body the Remote Gambling Association said it had long backed a statutory levy.
