NETFLIX TO THE PRESCUE
Netflix has saved the accidental President of the United States and given a boost to producer Entertainment One by commissioning a new series of axed political thriller Designated Survivor.
Entertainment One, an independent studio, has revealed the online streaming giant will air a 10-episode third season of the show next year.
Designated Survivor, with Kiefer Sutherland as a politician who becomes president after everyone above him dies in an explosion, was binned by network ABC earlier this year. At the time Entertainment One said the decision would be a blow to its earnings.
