Under lock and degree
MORE than 100 graduates will be signing up as prison officers this month under a groundbreaking scheme.
The recruits, some from top universities, will earn up to £30,000 a year as they study for a masters degree.
Unlocked, the charity running the scheme which started in 2016, had 900 applications for the places.
One graduate, referred to as Jack, said: “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to work in a prison.”
