STRIKER Joe Pigott hailed Wimbledon’s fighting spirit after downing Gillingham.

Pigott’s fifth goal of the season secured a first win since the opening day.

He said: “A few of the lads were picking up knocks at the end.

“I’m just chuffed to get the three points, we lasted the game well.

“We had to dig deep and make sure that whatever happened, we got a result from the game.”

Gills defender Barry Fuller said: “We’ve got to roll our sleeves up now and find a win from somewhere.”
