A Stalin in disguise

Surely the Russian people realise Vladimir Putin is not much different to Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, who destroyed millions of lives between 1930 and 1953? He too ruled with an iron fist and targeted anyone who questioned his authority.

It’s time the rest of the world crippled Putin’s regime with sanctions – and perhaps then the Russian people will wake up and see this man for what he is. Roger Grant Thurnscoe, South Yorks

In Voice of the Daily Mirror (Sept 6), you suggest the price cap proposed by Ofgem should be tougher.

In combinatio­n with the existing safeguard tariff, all the estimated 17 million households on poor-value default deals would be protected from being overcharge­d. The proposed level of the price cap is estimated using the actual costs of supplying electricit­y and gas to ensure suppliers always charge these households a fair price for their energy.
