SALES of spicy hot sauces have soared by almost a third to record levels.

Brits spent £16million last year on items such as chilli and tabasco, a rise of 29.5%, analysts Kantar Worldpanel’s study shows.

Sauces and condiments sales topped £550million for the first time in 2017, The Grocer mag reveals.

Jack Hillaby, from Grace Foods UK, said: “Spicy has become more mainstream as consumers become more experimental.”

AN artist has captured Arnie Schwarzenegger’s chiselled features perfectly in this amazing sculpture…

Wood carver James O’Neal created the 6ft 2in tall Arnie from a black oak tree trunk. Standing in typical Arnie bodybuilder pose, the artwork even shows off the veins on his muscles. It took James, of New Jersey, six months to create the sculpture of the Hollywood legend. He finished it off with polyurethane coat to highlight the natural grain. James said: “This black oak has the craziest grain of anything I’ve ever carved. Burls, knots, bark, bug tunnels, and grain that changes direction every few inches. So much character, and after all, Arnold is the Austrian Oak.” He certainly is, just look at the tree-ceps on him…
