GARETH SOUTHGATE says England will do everything they can to stop Ademola Lookman switching allegiances to Nigeria.

The Nigerian FA think they can tempt Everton’s London-born winger, who is eligible to play for them through his parents, even though he is a regular for England Under-21s.

But England boss Southgate remains confident they can keep the 20-year-old, who had an impressive spell on loan at RB Leipzig last season.

Southgate said: “They have always had an interest in him but he has been in our squads so we are doing as much as we can.”
