AGENTS OF CHANGE TO HIT POCKET

- BY JOHN CROSS

PREMIER LEAGUE stars could have to pay their own agents - rather than clubs pick up the bill. Last year intermediaries earned £220million from transfer deals while super agent Mino Raiola (left) got a staggering £41m from Paul Pogba’s move from Juventus to Manchester United two years ago. The Premier League are committed to a shake-up of the current system and clubs will discuss several proposals at a meeting today. They also want stricter rules and exams for agents. The other proposals include agents having a UK bank account where fees can be paid and having to present an annual financial statement, fees paid over the length of the contract rather than a lump sum and an end to dual representation.
