DOZY BRONCOS MUST BUCK UP
LONDON BRONCOS coach Danny Ward hopes his side have left their sluggish starts behind as they travel to his former club Hull KR in the Qualifiers.
The Broncos were blown away in consecutive matches by Leeds Rhinos and Toronto Wolfpack before making late comebacks, but were switched on from kick-off last week to beat Toulouse.
Ward said: “That was something we spoke about after the Leeds and Toronto matches – the games had gone by half-time.
“We focused on trying to start well and give ourselves a chance against good sides, and the Toulouse game was our best performance in a long time.
“Hopefully we’ve fixed up our starts now and we can be as good as that again, if not better.
“We’ll go up there and have a good crack at a good team.”
Widnes Vikings’ slim hopes of maintaining their Super League status hinge on ending a 17-match losing run and beating Championship club Halifax, who visit today.
The winners of the Toronto-Toulouse clash in Canada can take a giant step towards securing a place in the Million Pound Game.
