Patel happy at Hundred

SAMIT PATEL gave the controversial 100-ball format the thumbs-up yesterday.

The Hundred is set to launch in 2020 and is being road-tested across six pilot days this month.

Patel skippered the North against South in a trial match at Trent Bridge and said: “It was pretty good actually, different to what I was expecting.

”We’re playing 20 balls less than T20 but there’s not much difference. As captain you have to get the balance right between spinners and seamers.”
