Pep: I didn’t have to convince Sergio to stay at City.. he made the decision himself

AS if Pep Guardiola didn’t have enough going for him at the Etihad, now he has the Power of 10.

LEICESTER fear Harry Maguire’s crazy World Cup summer could take its toll.

Foxes boss Claude Puel says he is ready to step in and take his £60millionr­ated defender out of the firing line.

Maguire went from relative unknown to England superstar in Russia and returned to find Manchester United banging on the door to sign him.

His World Cup heroics not only brought attention but also saw him double his money with a new contract.

But Puel says he is concerned Maguire will suffer burn-out, especially as the 25-year-old insists he does not want a break.

The big centre-half may get the nod to play against Huddersfie­ld today but may then told to put his feet up for the League Cup match at Wolves in midweek.

Puel said: “I have had discussion­s with Harry about all the attention on him. It’s crazy. It’s the first time he’s had to manage this attention and stay focused at the same time.

“He’s a young player and is still learning to cope with all these new situations that are different to last season. He doesn’t want a rest, he wants to play all the time, but sometimes it’s important to give him a break.”
