LATE SHOW DELIGHTS SOLOMONS

-

ALAN SOLOMONS hailed his Worcester side after they stunned Leicester at Welford Road to record their first Premiership win of the season.

Solomons’ men looked in cruise control when they led 30-11 at half-time, then 37-11 midway through the second half.

However, the Tigers hit back to level the game in the 76th minute, only for 19-year-old Ted Hill – on his debut, having progressed through Worcester’s academy – to score in the corner and steal the win for the visitors.

Worcester director of rugby Solomons (right) said: “It was absolutely unbelievable.

“Before the game, we spoke about playing to our potential and being the best we can be. The side did that out there today. We made an unbelievable start. We have some talented players, but we haven’t been finishing our chances. We did today. There’s a never-say-die attitude about us. It was an incredible performance. They deserved it.”
