Quake waves hit Indonesia

HOUSES were swept away and whole families are reported missing after a tsunami struck Indonesia.

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake yesterday sparked a series of deadly 10ft waves.

Dramatic film footage captured the horrific moments the giant tides battered the city of Palu on the island of Sulawesi.

Dwikorita Karnawati, of Indonesia’s Met agency, said: “It’s chaotic, people are running on the streets and buildings have collapsed. There is a ship washed ashore.”
