Mum smiles after she’s found guilty of beating her baby boy
A CRUEL mother who inflicted attacks on her baby that almost killed him was pictured smiling as she left court.
Elizabeth Wilkins, 23, slammed the infant’s head against a hard surface leaving him with brain damage.
The child suffered broken ribs and a fractured skull, the court heard. Wilkins, who was studying law, was convicted on several charges of assault and faces jail in November. But she was pictured grinning as she left Plymouth crown court after the guilty verdict. Nurses grew suspicious when she showed no emotion while her son fought for life. As he was having a drill inserted into his bone marrow she said she did not mind watching as she was a “fan of Holby City”. Wilkins, from Plymouth, said she was working as a prostitute to pay for therapy, and would sleep with clients for £200.
