Man jailed for blade attack on ex’s dog
A BRUTE who repeatedly stabbed his ex’s sausage dog and left it chained to her fence in a revenge attack has been jailed.
Richard Hambley, 51, targeted Lacey after hours of boozing in July. The dog suffered eight stab wounds to the neck, legs and abdomen in Penryn, Cornwall.
Truro magistrates heard one cut ran threequarters of its body and exposed its ribs. Prosecutor Paul Gallagher said: “It had quite obvious stab wounds and was bleeding heavily.”
Hambley admitted causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and got 17 weeks.
He also got a 10-year restraining order banning contact with his ex.
